Champagne Vilmart

The Wine Merchant Thailand
Just mentioning Vilmart et Cie will evoke some of the most fervent and reverential praise from the world’s top wine luminaries: Antonio Galloni considers them masters of finesse, Peter Liem mounts them as “one of the finest producers in the region,” and Robert Parker has nominated their top label as “among the most complex, powerful, and structured wines in Champagne.”

That “top label” in question is “Coeur de Cuvée,” an old-vine, single-larcel vintage bottling that spends 10 months in French oak and 65+ months sur latte before release.

You’ll find this rarefied prestige cuvée stuffed in the cellars of savvy collectors, highlighting the finest three-michelin restaurants like The French Laundry and Eleven Madison Park, and we’re fortunate to get a small allocation for our faithful.

Laurent Champs, owner and Chef de Cave of Vilmart is one of Champagne’s unsung heroes. Vilmart is what is known as a ‘grower Champagne’; Laurent owns all of his own vines, rather than buying grapes in, giving him absolute control of the process from grape to glass.

Vilmart’s wines are at once ripe and structured, perfectly walking the line between hedonism and austerity, expertly balanced, and always exceptional.

“Vilmart & Cie. is not only one of the greatest grower-estates in Champagne, but one of the finest Champagne producers of any type in the region.” – Peter Liem, Champagneguide.net
