Elvio Cogno
The Cogno family has been making wine for four generations in Novello, Piedmont.
The fourth generation of the family, Valter Fissore and Nadia Cogno, with a sure hand and a great deal of passion, are now producing elegant and balanced wines in the classic style in a former granary, using technology sparingly. Walter describes his wines as “precise and pure,” and says they are meant to evoke emotions to be remembered and a sense of place, born of this remarkable site.
Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto and Nascetta are grape varieties consistently cultivated in the vineyards.
In the vineyards, the Cogno family works in an environmentally conscious manner without the use of pesticides.
The dynamic couple deliberately keep the yield per hectare low and always strive to ensure the organic balance of the vines.
